My Spore Creature

My own Spore creature

Spore: hands on experience

We are waiting for Spore for long time and finally we could see small piece of final title. EA released creature editor for this game and it is awesome. I was little bit nervous about quality of this game due all of these date changes, but all worries are gone.

You can download small demo (around 150 MB) from EA website and another good news: it works well on older computers: I ownAthlon XP 1800+ and 512MB Ram and everything works smooth and everything is quick. Good job EA.

In the trial version you can create your own creature from variety of “components”, you can also browse and edit creatures created by Spore creators and I was very surprised by huge variety of customization. There are also some kind of testing ground where you can test your pet and play with them. You can also create video from this part of game and upload it to youtube in one click. I suspect huge flood of these videos on youtube next days and you can also find many of them today.

Just test this game, downloading and installing time is very short and it is worth. You can also watch behind the scenes of spore video here on blog.

Sands of Time

Prince of Persia: Sands of TimeLooks like we didn’t write about any bigger games for a while. So what am I playing now except flash games (addiction to Dolphin Olympics 2 continues) and of course what would I recommend you to try, too? Last few day’s I’ve got very little time, so it’s not much, but because there are many rumors about new Prince of Persia games, I finally tried the last PoP trilogy. And of course I started with the oldest episode - Sands of time.

And I must say, that I was quite surprised. And fortunatelly in a good way. As you maybe know, I’m big Lara Croft’s fan and I must say, that Prince is a really good artist too. Of course he’s missing something, that Lara has, but at least there’s a nice sidekick:o)

And of course I finally got a chance to play with my new gamepad and the feeling is much better then if you play on your keyboard. But you sure know that:o)

So, a small recapitulation - the game is really good and I’m looking forward to finish it and continue with it’s sequels, which are said to be even better. And because it’s a quite an old game, you can play it even on older computer and it still looks great. It’s good to look back and play games that you forgot about when they were new.

On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness

On the Rain-Slick Precipice of DarknessRecently I’ve been thinking that it’s been a while since I’ve played some really good that made me laught. I can’t help myself, but there are less and less funny games. And if there are some, there are adventures. I’m almost sure, that Sam & Max must be funny as hell.

But today I found a really awsome RPG that made me laught with almost everything. It has fantastic dialogues, it looks funny and even a story itself is funny. Oh yeah, it’s a new Penny arcade game with a terribly long name On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness. I’ve never been fan ot this comic, but I’ll have to start watching it more carefully.

The story takes place in the year 1922 in a universe of New Arcadia (nothing to do with Dreamfall i suppose). In the beginning you can make your own character and of course you can choose how would you like to look. I was really amazed when I found out, that your 3D character can be also seen in 2D animation that shows you some important parts of the story, nice job boys.

So you make a hero and what now. I think that I can say with no spoiling, that in the beginning your hero’s house is crashed by a huge robot. And that’s what story is about. You try to find that robot and kick his ass. By and by you’ll find some companions. Not only human but for an example your first fellow companion will be a lazy cat. Don’t ask me what her attack is or how you’ll make you to join you but believe me - it’ll make you at least smile you.

So this game is really refreshing for me. I didn’t finish it yet (found it yesterday), but because of it’s epizodic design, I think we’ve got a nice opponent for Sam and Max. At least I hope it won’t end just like for example Sin…it would be really pitty.

Making Art for World of Goo (video)

As I wrote before, I like artistic look of this game, especially the trailers they produce.

Noitu Love 2 - Devolution

Noitu love 2If you like platformers, I’ve got a perfect one for you today. First of all I must say, that I didn’t play the full game, but I’m really thinking about buying it. The bad think is that it costs 20$, which I think is quite much even for a good indie game like this. But don’t lose your hope so fast - there’s a quite large demo, which you can play of course for free.

Noita Love 2 is a very fast and action game where’s no place for thinking. You control it with both your mouse and your keyboard. You’re moving with WSAD keys (you can use arrows too) and with your mouse you can fight. There are two ways to fight too. First one is to use your left mouse button or you can use right button and mouse gestures to use something more powerful. The best way to eliminate enemies is of course combination of these two. Of course there are powerful bosses, you can see two of them in the demo.

Presentation of the game is just fantastic. Pixelart praphics, retro music, beautiful animations. The only bad thing I know about is that there’s no way to play this game in a window, you must always use fullscreen. Or at least I didn’t find this choice.

If you want to try a demo or buy a full game you can do so on game’s site
