I am thinking about our own forums for a quite long time and today I want to announce that the Zip-Zap Games forums launched. Nothing more to say for now, I just hope that you will like it.

I’m not sure, what type of a game is todays’ game. It’s a little arcade, it’s a little puzzle, so let’s call it a puzzle arcade:o) Instructions of a game says that you’ll have to “use your mouse to click on objects and locations on the screen”. So it’s kinda about experimenting. You never know what can happen. When I think about it, it’s a little adventure game too.
So what it’s all about? Your hero is a little ninja and you must use just your brain and his bow to infiltrate the island. But there’ll be no blood, don’t be affraid. As I said before, it’s no action game. Just for a little example. On the first screen you can see two enemy ninjas, a little house, some fire, a lamp, a bee-hive and a tree. Do you think that the best way to get through them is just to shoot both ninjas?
Oh no. You must shoot a power wiring to turn the lights off and rid of the first ninja. Then get on the roof of the house and shoot the hive which falls on the other ninja. And what he was watching over? Ahaaa, it looks like a treasure! I won’t tell what’s in there, but it’ll help you.
All the game problems are quite clever, but don’t be affraid of getting stuck. I don’t think I’m a good player of such a games and I had no problems and really enjoyed this little adventure.
Most of gamers will tell you that current games sux, because most games are similar of each others (and then they will go to the shop for new sequel of Fifa, NBA… you named it). The gaming geeks and journalist are more persistent about this and if they see something new they start to sing ode. While fascinated by something new they can easily omit some things which can degrade the game.
There are small independent company in the England: Introversion software and they’ve got all this press for everything they do. I played most of their games and like it, but I can’t say that these game are superiors, they are just unusual. This games have different graphics than other games, have differentgameplay and although their games are not special journalist and hard core gamers like it. This is clear message for other developers: stop doing poor alternatives of successful games and make something different. People will love you.

Today I’ve got another great “brainless” game which is great to turn off for a minute and just relax. It’s called Canyon shooter and as the name says - it’s a shooting game. And it’s situated in a canyon:oD
You’ll need both your hands to control the game with keyboard and mouse - with WSAD keys you can move and by pointing with youre mouse and clicking the left button you can shoot. Controls are quite comfortable and easy to learn. Of course - it’s nothing new. Graphics looks very good and even sounds are good enough to finish pretty action atmosphere.
And how do you play? In the beginning of each level you’re thrown away from a helicopter and using your parachute you must land down the canyon safely. Of course it’s not easy because you’re in an enemy teritorry so many enemy soldiers are going to try to stop you. Some of them are staying on sides of the canyon, others are trying their luck in the air using various types of flying machines. To crush them you can use a few weapons including default knife and pistol. During the flight you can gain various power ups (extra weapons and bullets, healt-packs…usual stuff).
How you gain score? Of course by finishing levels (there are quite a lot of them which is great). You can get some extra score if you finish with good health and in a good time. And in addition you can get some score for every killed enem.

Grow series is jewel on the playable web games crown. This newest sequel of the series is Grow Island and it quickly became my favorite grow type of games.
In this game genre you have couple of choices and you push the buttons and see what happen. Your objective is to have all the items on maximum level. In this game, you will see love story (or rejection if you do not play well), volcano disasters, ship adventures and alien onartificial moon! Do not worry that you miss any situation, you will play the game again and again.
Gee wrote about Grow Cube couple of months before. This sequel is situated to the island and you will build infrastructure and do science. See screenshot to get better idea. In fact this game is deductive puzzle solving and most time you will just trying different combinations and hope that you will win. This game is perfect for quiet evenings.
Big news, id Software today announced that they start with production work on Doom 4. There is still no more information, yet, just id Software hire new people for the development team.
I hope that more information will be revealed during the QuakeCon on July 31.
